Knots for (outdoor) climbers

Monday, January 27, 2025
6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Allendale Campus
Students

This workshop moves beyond the figure-eight to introduce additional knots that are commonly used throughout our workshops for climbers hoping to take their skills outdoors. The specific knots will be necessary for our other workshops such as Anchors and Top Managed Systems.

While there are a multitude of resources available online for learning various climbing knots, our experienced instructors offer a few things the online tutorials do not:

  1. Confirmation that you are tying the knots correctly
  2. Guidance on when & how to apply the knots in climbing applications
  3. Guidance on which knots need to be backed-up & how to do so properly

For a detailed description of this workshop, please visit the Outdoor Adventures page for technical climbing skills: http://w90i.tianjingkeji.com/rec/outdoors/technical-skills-56.htm

Format: In-Person

Cost:  FREE

We've allotted 2 hours but the actual time may vary based on variables of our group.
